Three Pfizer CentreOne team members honored at CPHI Pharma Awards ceremony
Every year, the CPHI Pharma Awards recognize innovation, excellence, and collaboration, honoring trailblazers across the pharmaceutical industry.
We're proud to celebrate three Pfizer CentreOne colleagues who were named finalists, all of whom attended the finalists' ceremony in Milan, Italy, on October 6, 2026:
“Jenny, Lorna, and Milena represent our biggest strength: our people,” said Toni Burkard, Senior Director of Business Enablement at Pfizer CentreOne. “Each of them brings expertise, dedication, and real heart to their role, never losing sight of the patients our customers serve. We're incredibly proud to see them recognized by the industry.”
Jenny has been named a finalist for CPHI Woman of the Year for the second year in a row. As Global Business Development Lead, she finds and secures new business opportunities for Pfizer CentreOne, drawing on 40 years of experience across manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, marketing, and commercial leadership. This rare breadth of perspective enables her to balance patient needs and commercial urgency with the operational complexity of large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Over the past four decades, Jenny has helped move the industry from a place where she was often the only woman in the room to one with a growing pipeline of confident female leaders. She co-founded The Collective, a women’s development initiative at Pfizer that has scaled from a grassroots effort into a global leadership program. Through structured mentoring, coaching, and peer communities, the program has helped 94% of participants take active steps to grow their careers, and 30% now mentor others.
Jenny also supports women in STEM outside of Pfizer CentreOne. Through industry networks and community mentoring programs, she helps students, early-career professionals, and other women across healthcare professions identify their strengths and advance their careers. She draws on her own experience to coach them through dynamics she has navigated, including balancing confidence with approachability and assertiveness with collaboration, and is candid about the fact that these expectations often look different for women.
“I’m honored to be named a finalist for the 2026 CPHI Pharma Awards in the Woman of the Year category,” said Jenny. “For me, leadership is not about individual achievement. It is about creating opportunities for others to succeed, building meaningful relationships, and contributing to an industry that has the potential to improve lives around the world.”
With over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Lorna has worked across operations, engineering, and supply chain. This includes a role in Pfizer Global Supply, working with our commercial partners and complex global network to deliver Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine to millions of people worldwide at lightspeed.
Today, as Vice President of Operations, Lorna is responsible for the global delivery of every product that Pfizer CentreOne manufactures for both Pfizer brands and Pfizer CentreOne customers. She keeps her team focused on getting those products to patients, always treating Pfizer CentreOne customers' patients as an extension of Pfizer's own.
In October 2025, she also completed an Executive MBA with First-Class Honors, studying alongside her full-time role. That eagerness to learn influences Lorna’s leadership style. Rather than handing teams a solution, she works with them to understand the problem, then gives them the autonomy and support to solve it.
She has applied this approach to help manufacturing sites maintain strong delivery performance, spending time with site teams to review performance together, then giving them the space to develop and implement new ideas across product prioritization, manufacturing, packing, and inventory.
Lorna's commitment to helping others grow extends beyond her day-to-day role. As a mentor in Pfizer Global Supply's European Women's Mentoring Program and a regular guest speaker across the program, she is guided by a simple principle: pay it forward. Having benefited from formal and informal mentors herself, she sees investing in the next generation as her responsibility. Secondments are another way she opens doors, giving colleagues the chance to step into stretch roles.
Since joining Pfizer CentreOne in 2024, Milena has taken on growing responsibility across marketing, business development, and operations. In her current role as Operational Excellence Lead (AI Productivity), she is known for stepping up without being asked and bringing the right people together to turn ambitious ideas into practical solutions. One example is her work introducing AI tools that streamline workflows across the business. To ensure colleagues get the most from these tools, she has contributed to training programs and presented at company-wide workshops.
Her work and dedication have been recognized both inside and outside the company. In 2025, Milena received an internal innovation award and was selected for an invitation-only leadership development program. In 2026, she was named to the NOVA 111 list, an independently judged list recognizing outstanding professionals under 35.
Even as a student, Milena went above and beyond. During her undergraduate degree, she served as a student representative and participated in mentoring programs that encourage young people to pursue careers in the life sciences. As a master’s student, she conducted research on the effect of medication color on pediatric acceptability, which contributed to a peer-reviewed scientific publication that the European Union has since referenced.
Today, she continues to support others entering the field. Both of her alma maters have invited her back to speak to students about careers in health and life sciences, and at Pfizer CentreOne, she mentors a placement-year student. She is well placed to inspire others: by her own account, Milena finds the work fun and loves what she does, with the desire to improve patients' lives always at the center.
Each of our finalists embodies what drives Pfizer CentreOne: helping our customers maximize the impact of their products and get life-changing therapies to patients faster. Because for patients, time is life.
